About the role
This role is responsible for a range of foundational accounting tasks that ensure the accurate and efficient functioning of financial operations.
This role is based on site.
Key responsibilities
- Manage full accounts payable and receivable cycles.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support month-end processes and reporting.
- Handle invoice processing and payment runs.
- Perform complex bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage fixed asset registers and depreciation calculations.
- Coordinate external audit processes.
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc analysis.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory management.
- Provide forecast and cashflow.
- Review P&L and balance sheet and provide explanations for unexplained variances.
- Other duties that may be required from time to time.
Desired skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards.
- Advanced skills in Excel, financial systems, and reporting tools.
- Proven experience in financial statement preparation.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills. .
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Advanced ERP system experience (NetSuite, or similar).
- Previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant role.
