Positions: Grounds and Facilities Officer

Contract: Permanent full-time, 38 hours per week, 6:30am - 2:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Start date: ASAP (Negotiable)

Classification: Level 4 to Level 5, depending on qualifications and experience.

About The Opportunity

As the Grounds and Facilities Officer, you'll be an integral part of a small maintenance team, supporting our Business Manager in managing grounds and maintenance tasks across our Montessori campus. We're looking for someone personable, self-driven, and who thrives in a small team setting. You'll work independently under the guidance of the Business Manager, prioritising workplace safety and committing to providing outstanding service.

You are also adept with school grounds and facilities maintenance, including but not limited to:

  • Support the Business Manager with maintaining grounds, resources, repairs, and replacements.
  • Perform maintenance tasks promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct maintenance activities, including cleaning, mowing, whipper snipping and gardening.
  • Assist with event setup and takedown to ensure smooth logistics.

To be successful in this role:

Ideally, you have a relevant qualification or experience in a school setting and have worked in facilities support before or willing to learn. You should have an unrestricted C class driver's license and good written and spoken communication skills.

You can also show:


• Responsible manual handling skills and capacity to undertake all physical operations unhindered;


• First Aid and CPR qualifications, pre-employment screening, a Blue Card (paid) or willingness to obtain,


• Ability to work autonomously within a small team.
