About the job

Position:

Sales Engineer (permanent/part-time/fixed-term/casual)

Location:

Sydney or Melbourne

Responsibilities:

  1. Drive sales of technical products and solutions from our partners IBM, AWS, and other companies in the AI, cyber security and data science space.
  2. Closely work with our partners to be trained in the use of their products and solutions – obtain necessary certifications where required.
  3. Develop thorough knowledge on the technical products and solutions that are targeted to be sold, including aspects of pricing, cost vs benefit analysis etc.
  4. Collect, analyse and prepare insights on industry and market intelligence – understand market demands, competitor offerings and positioning strategies.
  5. Obtain customer requirements by closely working with decision makers and develop use cases for product/solution deployments.
  6. Prepare sales proposals, presentations and quotations for customers.
  7. Conduct technical workshops and product demos for customers.
  8. Build, develop and maintain long-term stakeholder relationships.
  9. Provide sales support by responding to customers on their queries and liaise with our partners to address them satisfactorily.
  10. Assist in preparing and submitting tenders.

Experience:

  1. 2+ years of experience working in a sales engineering/pre-sales/technical consulting/product development/solutions architect role, preferably in cybersecurity, AI, data science, cloud computing, enterprise software solutions.
  2. Working with startups/SMEs to sell technical products and solutions.

Requirements:

  1. Very good understanding of IBM and AWS products, services and solutions.
  2. Good knowledge of technologies such as DevOps tools, AI/ML platforms, Cyber security tools, IaaS etc.
  3. Good knowledge of APIs and system integration.
  4. Good knowledge of technical economics, pricing and monetisation.
  5. Good knowledge of sales processes and how technical sales are negotiated.
  6. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
  8. Ability to work independently as well as in an outcome-driven team environment.

Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science/computer engineering/IT or equivalent.
  2. IBM/AWS-issued certifications / other technical certifications (preferred).
  3. Sales/marketing/economics related studies/certifications (preferred).
