The Role: Senior Logistics & Inventory Leader

Are you ready to take charge of stock control governance across a nationwide logistics network? As our Senior Logistics & Inventory Leader, you'll lead the charge in optimising product flow, harnessing cutting-edge automation technologies from partners like Knapp and Dematic, and delivering seamless service to our customers.

You'll be the key strategic partner for our Supply Chain and operational teams, championing continuous improvement and operational excellence in safety, service, and cost efficiency.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead & Innovate: Drive best-practice governance and optimisation across all distribution centres (DCs) for stock control, layout, and safety.
  • Maximise Automation: Collaborate with top automation partners to unlock full value from advanced systems.
  • Build & Connect: Establish a strong, nationwide network of Systems/Inventory leads, fostering shared learning and succession planning.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain rigorous compliance with all relevant legislation, including Dangerous Goods and Controlled Substances.
  • Drive Insights: Oversee cycle counts, credit strategies, and generate actionable insights to minimise costs and enhance availability.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Supply Chain and Merchandise teams to streamline product flow and elevate operational efficiency.
  • Lead People: Inspire and manage a high-performing team, focusing on development, safety, and goal achievement.
  • Measure Success: Develop and report on key performance indicators, ensuring budgets and forecasts align with operational outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years in senior leadership within automated distribution facilities
  • Proven track record in process governance, commercial excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Deep knowledge of logistics, transport, and supply chain operations
  • Skilled in managing diverse, remote teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, financial, and strategic thinking skills
  • Experience with Lean, S&OP, SAP, and data-driven decision-making
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, coaching, and influencing abilities

  • This role reports to the State Logistics Manager and includes direct reports.
  • Occasional travel between sites is required.
