Workfast are currently looking for a Plant Mechanic near Brisbane CBD, commencing immediately. This is an ongoing position with the potential go permanent after probation period.  

  • $52-$54/hr depending on tickets and experience
  • Penalties and afternoon/night rates
  • Fulltime hours, Monday - Friday

This role will see you will be working on rollers, loaders, skid steers and trucks. You will also be required to do general labouring where needed.

What you will be doing:

  • Handling workshop tools and equipment, including performing diagnostic checks and calibration tests.
  • Identifying issues using engineering schematics and P&IDs.
  • Overseeing a variety of mobile equipment used in asphalt production, including conducting repairs and addressing breakdowns.
  • Performing general workshop tasks like inventory management and cleaning.
  • Willingness to work day shifts, night shifts, and possible Saturdays
  • Complying with Workplace Health and Safety guidelines.

The Requirements:

  • Mechanical trade certification
  • HR or higher license
  • Forklift ticket is a bonus
  • Experience in servicing and maintaining mobile machinery
  • Proficient in diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Capable of working independently with minimal oversight
  • Expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and auto-electrical systems
