About the role

Calibre Engineering Pty Ltd is a locally owned and operated company located in Mount Isa. It is one of the fastest growing companies in the Northwest Region.

Preference will be given to QLD residents due to availability in locations for medical providers and Training.

We are currently searching for Experienced Boilermakers & Fitters to work on a FIFO basis on a 2:1.

This is ongoing rostered work – FIFO Candidates Must Reside in Brisbane, Townsville, or Cairns

About the Role:

In this role, you will:

  • Work as part of the Projects team across various mine sites and processing plants
  • Support mining operations using your mechanical expertise
  • Always adhere to site safety procedures and promote a strong safety culture
  • Conduct routine maintenance on a range of fixed plant equipment
  • Ensuring the achievements of targets and annual budgets are reached by working collaboratively with appropriate personnel.

All flights and accommodation while on site are provided.

Please note: Some work occurs in a lead environment, so you must be comfortable wearing a respirator when required.

Flights from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns Only to site as well as accommodation while on site will be provided.

Some work is based in a lead stream so you must be comfortable wearing a respirator at times.

To be considered, you must have:
  • A relevant Trade Certificate
  • Ability to pass a mine site medical, including drug and alcohol testing
  • HRWL – Rigger's ticket essential
  • Willingness to complete mandatory Mount Isa Mines inductions and training

Duties for the Role:

Fitters:

  • Experience in Fixed plant Maintenance
  • Working on Hydraulics, Circuit Pumps & Pneumatics
  • Maintenance on Conveyors, Gear boxes, Pumps & be able to find faults.
  • Forklift or EWP 11m+ ticket (or willing to obtain)

Boilermakers:

  • Must be clean-shaven and willing to work in lead stream conditions
  • Preferably with prior mine site experience
  • Proficient in:
  • FCAW (flux-cored arc welding)
  • Full penetration butt welds that pass UT testing
  • Stick welding that passes magnetic particle testing
  • Structural remediation (handrails, beams, pump/motor removals)
  • Forklift or EWP 11m+ ticket (or willing to obtain)
