About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Maintainer to join our Regional Assets North, Wayside Systems team based at our Townsville depot.
As a
Systems Maintainer
, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of Queensland Rail's mechanical signalling equipment. Based within a skilled, multidisciplinary signalling team, you'll support a broad region stretching from Townsville to St Lawrence, and as far north as Cairns and Kuranda.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for:
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical signalling equipment
- Assisting with maintenance and repair of standby generator plants
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with WH&S standards
- Accurately completing administrative and record-keeping tasks
- Contributing to the improvement of existing work procedures and practices
- Reporting on completed tasks against scheduled maintenance plans
About You
We're looking for a reliable, safety-focused individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a supportive team. To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Certificate III in Mechanical Rail Signalling
- A current driver's licence
- A strong mechanical aptitude
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively
- A demonstrated commitment to safety and quality
- Flexibility to travel across regional Queensland as needed
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required
