The Role
Reporting to the Shift Team Leader our Ammonia Process Technicians are responsible for meeting production volume, safety and quality in accordance with set targets, perform housekeeping duties, resolve operating issues as they arise and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

You Will Also Be Responsible For

  • Completing training modules and being signed off in the ammonia plant operations.
  • Participate in departmental safety program.
  • Monitor plant condition and intervene if necessary.
  • Perform minor maintenance on plant and equipment if competent to do so and assist in maintenance activities to aid in the timely restart of the plant.
  • Participate in execution of start-up and shutdown of plant when required.
  • Phosphate Hill FIFO role roster – roster may vary for the first 3 months while in initial training (e.g. 8/6 days only or 4/3 days only or 8/6D7/7N rosters).

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, demonstrated ability to learn easily, demonstrated leadership qualities including the ability to work well with others but at the same time be their own individual. You will display a desire to progress within our department, be a committed team player with a strong emphasis on safety, customer service and achieving results.

Other Desired Skills And Experience Include

  • Previous ammonia plant process experience.
  • You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture
  • Advanced Boiler, Steam Turbine ticket will be a definite advantage.
  • High levels of mechanical aptitude and process troubleshooting skills.
  • DCS systems and exposure to process control systems, a definite advantage.
  • Trade qualification (desired).
  • Demonstrated capability in working collaboratively and working to tight deadlines.
  • Basic computer literacy skills.
  • Strong ability to work autonomously with limited supervision

Phosphate Hill
IPL Manufacturing Operations - Phosphate Hill consists of an integrated open cut mine and processing facility, producing high quality ammonium phosphate fertilisers for domestic and export markets. The production facilities include ammonia, phosphoric acid, granulation and beneficiation plants. The plants are fitted with the latest technology and feature state of the art manufacturing processes.

The Granulation plant consists of the reactors and solids handling equipment necessary to turn gaseous ammonia and liquid phosphoric acid into high quality Granulated MAP and DAP fertiliser.
