We're currently seeking a reliable and organised Post-Production and Packing Manager to lead our evening operations. This role is essential in ensuring that our hand-crafted products are beautifully finished, carefully packed, and ready for delivery to both our wholesale partners and retail shops.

Burleigh Baker is dedicated to the art of sourdough baking, using long fermentation and natural ingredients that support gut health. We avoid premixes and choose smaller, ethical flour mills for our baking. Our work is rooted in science, tradition, and care, for our food and for the people who enjoy it.

Every product that leaves our bakery carries our signature quality. This role ensures we maintain that standard through the final stages of production and dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

· Evening supervision of the post-production team.

· Slicing artisan breads with precision and consistency.

· Finishing baked goods, such as adding glazes or toppings to pastries and cakes just before packing.

· Packing a wide variety of products: fresh bread, pastries, frozen items, and finished cakes.

· Organising and labelling orders for retail and wholesale deliveries.

· Ensuring the correct use of crates, boxes, and bags to protect product quality.

· Maintaining hygiene standards, freezer protocols, and order tracking accuracy.

· Coordinating with the day team to ensure smooth production-to-packing handover.

· Reporting shortages, packing errors, or product issues proactively to relevant managers.

· Supporting stock rotation and freezer management for frozen goods.

· Managing inventory of packaging materials, including boxes, labels, bags, and crates.

· Placing timely orders

· Cleaning all equipment and the working area at the end of each shift to maintain hygiene and safety standards.

· Leading and participating in a weekly deep clean of the factory to uphold high sanitation and food safety standards

What We're Looking For

· Experience in food packing, dispatch coordination, or bakery/food production.

· A team leader who ensures workflow efficiency and quality control.

· High attention to detail, especially under time pressure.

· Reliable and punctual; this role is essential to the end-of-day operations.

· Ability to work autonomously, solve problems, and prioritise tasks.

· Physically fit and comfortable handling crates, boxes, and freezer items.

· Strong communication and reporting skills.

· A passion for artisanal food and pride in quality-driven work.
