Primary Purpose of the Position
The Systems Administrator (M365) will be responsible for managing and supporting core infrastructure and enterprise services with a focus on Microsoft 365, while providing continual support and improvement of processes, services, and documentation to assist the University reach operational and strategic goals.
The position works with a variety of stakeholders, including other technical & project teams, customers, and vendors to solve complex technical problems and provide solutions.
Position Environment
Information Management Technology Services (IMTS) is the central information management and technology service provider for core infrastructure and services and is responsible for the development and management of information and communications technology resources in response to research, teaching and business requirements.
This position, which is based within IMTS's Core Infrastructure and Enterprise Services team, is responsible for maintaining and improving infrastructure and services, both on-premises and in the cloud that drive the University's business operations including teaching & learning, research, and communication within the University, between remote sites and with external entities.
Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities Act as a subject matter expert in adoption of M365. Produce detailed design, documentation, implementation and automation of Microsoft 365 services allowing secure and efficient consumption, management and ongoing support to provide a quality customer experience.
Ensuring day to day operations of Microsoft 365 and on premises infrastructure services, responding to incidents and requests and implementing changes to ensure high availability of systems and services supporting key business operations.
Manage and maintain the managed/standard operating environment across Microsoft Configuration Manager and Intune services to provide a CIS compliant and manageable environment
Actively work with relevant teams to promote, develop and implement M365 tools and capabilities. Provide advice and guidance and implementation as required
Essential Criteria
- Degree qualifications in relevant discipline with extensive experience, certifications or an equivalent level of work experience and training.
- Extensive experience managing, configuring and deploying Microsoft 365 services, including CoPilot, Teams, SharePoint, Intune and PowerPlatform
- Extensive experience managing, configuring and deploying on premises Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra Connect and Configuration Manager
- Strong automation and scripting skills, eg PowerShell, Python
- Experience developing and maintaining secure managed/standard operating environments for endpoint devices
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication and documentation skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well with others in a changing and dynamic team environment
- Strong customer focus with experience working with ITIL practices
This is a contract role based in Wollongong
6 months duration paying up to $750 + super daily
- The focus will be on MS Teams and MS Co-Pilot deployments.
- You will need to have hands on expertise administering both Teams and CoPilot. Licensing, configuration, policies, user needs and cybersecurity.
- You will be working with a project team on the rollout but the main focus will be on stabilising operations for these platforms.
