Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ESCA Group Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

Head of Events & Reservations

Join ESCA – one of Sydney's fastest-growing hospitality groups – and take the lead on events, reservations, and guest experiences across a portfolio of premium, award-winning venues.

At ESCA, we operate some of Sydney's most celebrated restaurants– venues recognised for their culinary excellence, design, and guest experience. With seven venues (and more to come), we are driven by our values of challenging the ordinary, support, empowerment and achieving results.

We are now seeking a hands-on and sales-focused Head of Events & Reservations to join our leadership team. This role will oversee reservations and event enquiries across the group, lead a small team, and work closely with our Business Development Manager (BDM) and Group Reservation Manager to maximise bookings and drive event sales.

This is a hugely important role – you'll be the first point of contact for many of our guests, and often the last, ensuring every interaction leaves a lasting impression.

About the Role

This role is about selling events, maximising reservations, and creating exceptional guest experiences.

While you will collaborate with the Group Reservations Manager and lead and mentor the reservations team, this is also a hands-on role – you will personally take phone reservations, manage booking enquiries, and respond to guest emails alongside your team.

Your focus will be on selling, selling, selling our events and private dining experiences, while ensuring that every guest interaction reflects ESCA's premium service standards.

With proven experience in restaurant event management and reservations and a strong understanding of SevenRooms, you'll be accountable for driving sales targets, managing enquiries, and delivering seamless service from first contact to final execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead reservations and event management across ESCA's soon to be 10+ premium venues
  • Take phone reservations and email enquiries, ensuring a fast, professional, and guest-focused response
  • Sell, sell, sell – proactively convert private dining, group booking, and event enquiries into confirmed revenue
  • Work closely with the BDM team to develop sales initiatives, campaigns, and activations
  • Mentor and develop a small reservations and events team to deliver consistent service and results
  • Collaborate with general managers to ensure smooth event execution and unforgettable guest experiences
  • Fully utilise SevenRooms to manage reservations, guest data, and maximise sales opportunities

About You

  • Proven experience in restaurant event and reservations management and hospitality sales (multi-venue experience highly regarded)
  • Thorough knowledge of SevenRooms – confident in using it to manage reservations and drive sales
  • Hands-on leader – willing to jump in, answer phones, respond to enquiries, and lead by example
  • Sales-focused, target-driven, and highly organised
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – warm, confident, and professional
  • Experience managing and mentoring a small team
  • Passionate about guest experience – nothing is ever "just a booking"

What's on Offer

At ESCA, you'll be part of a growing, dynamic hospitality group with a reputation for innovation, creativity, and excellence. We believe our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to supporting and empowering our teams to achieve their best.

  • Work with some of Sydney's most exciting and award-winning venues
  • Collaborative, supportive culture that values growth, respect, and fun
  • Be part of a group that is expanding rapidly, offering genuine career opportunities
  • Competitive salary package and access to industry-leading systems and training

  • Central Sydney office in Surry Hills, close to public transport

  • Work alongside a passionate team who love what they do
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping guest experiences across some of Sydney's most exciting venues

Why Join ESCA?

The foundation that ESCA is built upon is our unremitting urge to challenge the ordinary, push boundaries, and create exciting professional paths.

Our purpose is driven by ensuring every element of our venues is elevated — delivering instant sensations of warmth, a positive and progressive culture, and a feel-good atmosphere. We achieve this by nurturing the hands and minds of our team.

  • An additional day off for your birthday.
  • Service recognition for every year worked.
  • Internal dining allowance.
