About the role

As an Accounts Officer, you'll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring financial integrity and strong customer focus. Reporting to the Financial Services Lead, you'll support day-to-day operations that are vital to SA Water's financial performance and excellent customer service.

About Business Insights and Excellence

The Business Insights and Excellence group drives operational excellence by enabling best business practices, economic pricing, financial management, supply chain management, and Risk Governance & Assurance to support the broader business and partners in delivering reliable, cost-effective, sustainable, and future-focused outcomes.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.

You will:

• Process invoice payments and customer receipts accurately and efficiently.
• Assist in the coordination of EFT and cheque runs, managing supplier payments exceeding $1 billion annually.
• Respond to account queries via phone, email, and written correspondence.
• Collaborate within the Finance team to achieve performance goals and continuous improvement.
• Deliver customer-focused financial services and maintain accurate customer account records.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable (desirable).
• Understanding of GST regulations and computer-based financial systems (desirable).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A team player with a proactive attitude and a commitment to service excellence.
