The Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide positively impacts the lives of its members through the development and delivery of human services related programs and offerings. With head office in the Adelaide CBD and multiple sites throughout South Australia, a rewarding opportunity for an Accounts Officer - Parish Project is currently available for a 12 month fixed term contract.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Officer to support the Parish Project. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions for participating Parishes, ensuring alignment with our general ledger system and internal financial controls. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounting administration skills who enjoys working in a purpose-driven environment.

Key duties include:

  • Accurately enter accounts payable invoices into Technology 1 system
  • Ensure all invoices for payment are authorised
  • Receipt and record all monies received by parishes
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and account movements
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and run monthly financial reports, including Income & Expenditure and Balance Sheet statements

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in back-office accounting and administrative functions
  • Sound understanding of accounting standards and relevant taxation legislation
  • Demonstrable experience in the application of Technology One Finance system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail
