Senior Project Officer

As a Senior Project Officer you will contribute to the government's responses to native title compensation claims. You will liaise within and between Native Title Indigenous Land Services and technical teams with the department of Resources to ensure the timely and accurate handling of claims through research and spatial data development.

The role requires experience with spatial and/or mapping systems, coupled with the ability to manage multiple projects. Understanding Queensland's land titling system will also be beneficial to this role.

As a Senior Project Officer within the Native Title and Indigenous Land Services team, you'll be part of a specialised group responsible for helping the Queensland Government recognise Indigenous interests in land and natural resources. Each day, you'll work closely with the Native Title Compensation team to coordinate Queensland's response to native title claims and Indigenous Land Use Agreements, ensuring decisions are well-informed and supported by accurate and legally defensible data.

This role will see you balancing research with spatial knowledge, using your organisational skills to manage multiple matters at once while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. You'll contribute to improving departmental processes, identifying ways to refine systems and make native title research more efficient and automated. You'll thrive in this role if you're analytical, curious and collaborative.
