About the role
This is a full-time Sous Chef / Chef role at the acclaimed Copper bar and grill restaurant in South Townsville, QLD. As a key member of the kitchen team, your role will involve the preparation and service of high-quality, creative dishes to delight our customers. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your culinary skills and advance your career in the hospitality industry.
What you'll be doing
- Responsible for menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff to ensure consistent high standards of food quality and presentation
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment
- Ensure adherence to all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service
- Participate in developing and implementing new menu items and specials
- Assist with stock control and ordering of kitchen supplies
What we're looking for
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Sous Chef or Chef in a similar high-volume, fast-paced hospitality environment
- Strong technical cooking skills and knowledge of various cuisine styles and preparation methods
- Excellent time management, multitasking and problem-solving abilities
- Proven track record of leading and developing kitchen teams
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high food safety and quality standards
- Passion for creating innovative, delicious dishes and an interest in food trends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
