Johnson & Young Cranes (JYC) is a proudly Australian-owned business providing high-quality mobile crane and transport services to clients across Australia. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a proactive and results-driven Sales Representative/Crane Consultant to join our team. This is not just a basic sales role, it's a client-facing position where your industry knowledge, relationship-building skills, and ability to drive new business and customer solutions will directly contribute to JYC's success.

You'll be instrumental in expanding our client base, nurturing key relationships, and ensuring our services are delivered to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
  • Convert leads into confirmed work.
  • Identify and develop new markets and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct client visits to evaluate needs and promote services.
  • Network and cold call to expand the client base.
  • Undertake site inspections when required.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and the broader JYC team.
  • Collaborate with Operations to align resources with project delivery.
  • Meet monthly and quarterly sales targets, along with weekly KPIs.
  • Prepare and deliver professional proposals, tenders, and presentations to clients.
  • Accurately forecast sales and report on pipeline activity to management.
  • Represent JYC at industry and networking events.
  • Provide feedback to management on market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to help shape strategy.
  • Keep quoting systems accurate and up to date.
  • Carry out other tasks as requested by the Management team.

What We're Looking For:

  • Excellent time management, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage your own schedule.
  • Strong planning skills to balance new business development, account management, site visits, and admin tasks.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in B2B sales within cranes, transport, construction, or heavy equipment sales or hire will be highly regarded.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets within a competitive environment
  • Experience preparing proposals, quotes, or tenders for clients.
  • Confidence in presenting and negotiating with clients at all levels, i.e.) site supervisors, project engineers, procurement managers and senior executives.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project costings and margins.
  • Strong CRM and reporting skills.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance when dealing with sites, equipment, and clients.
  • Professional presentation and conduct as a representative of JYC.
  • Ability to respond quickly to client needs.
  • Engaging personality with strong rapport-building skills.
  • Positive attitude and drive to succeed.
  • Must hold a current Victorian driver's licence.

Location and travel expectations:

  • This role will be based out of JYC head office in Campbellfield, however as this is a client facing position, a large portion of time will be spent on the road travelling between clients & projects in both metro and regional areas.
