Rigby Jones Engineering (RJE), part of the Southern Steel Group, is a leading steel processor and former providing profiling, pressing, cutting, bending and rolling services to industries across Australia.

We're seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to lead the team of 50+ into its next phase of growth.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll take ownership of the profitability, strategy, and performance of our well-established business. You'll inspire and develop a high-performing team, build strong customer and supplier relationships, and ensure our reputation for quality and service continues to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full P&L accountability and business performance
  • Driving sales growth and customer engagement
  • Leading, coaching, and developing staff
  • Strategic planning, forecasting, and workforce management
  • Overseeing KPIs and operational targets
  • Partnering with production to meet customer needs

About You:

  • Proven senior leadership with commercial acumen
  • Strong sales, marketing, and negotiation skills
  • Background in steel distribution/engineering (highly regarded)
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to drive growth
  • Excellent communicator and relationship builder
  • Hands-on approach with technical/engineering capability
