About the role
Are you a creative communicator who loves bringing ideas to life and connecting people through engaging content? We are seeking a talented individual with a background in marketing or communications to join our Customer Strategy and Communications team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in shaping how the PTA communicates, engages, and builds meaningful connections with our staff and stakeholders.
The Communications Officer role is responsible for developing and coordinating a range of communication materials for both internal and external audiences, ensuring alignment with PTA's strategic objectives. A key focus is developing and maintaining content for PTA's website and intranet, writing content for publications, development of the PTA Annual Report and the development and implementation of communications plans.
In addition, the role focuses on building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to source content and ensure corporate information is disseminated appropriately, maintaining style and content guidelines to ensure consistency across communication channels.
About You
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A tertiary qualification and/or relevant expertise in marketing, communications, or other related discipline.
- Relevant communications expertise, including:
- Project management experience in website initiatives or online information technology projects.
- Experience in using content management systems, writing and editing for the web and general website management.
- Experience in designing and developing publications for a range of audiences to meet communications objectives, including experience using Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), including the ability to write for various audiences, proofread and edit materials for publication, and manage relationships with suppliers and service providers.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to use data to evaluate effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.

There is currently
one fixed term opportunity available to 22 January 2027
with the possibility of renewal and/or permanency. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies on a fixed term or permanent basis that may arise within the next 12 months
