About us
The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.
What we do is integral to the Government's decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer's money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.
We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.
We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.
The work area
This role sits within the Communications team which is part of the Office of the Under Treasurer business unit. As strategic advisors, the Communications team ensures staff and stakeholders are informed and engaged with DTF which is at the centre of government decision-making. They ensure clear and consistent branding; develop and implement strategic communications plans and advice; produce publication-ready versions of key reports and coordinate DTF's internal and external communications channels
.

The Communications Officer works closely with senior team members, providing crucial support in creating a variety of communication content including corporate communication policies and procedures, public campaigns, website content and is primarily responsible for:
- developing, editing and publishing a range of materials across multiple internal and external communications channels;
- ensuring the consistency, quality and integrity of the DTF brand across all materials; and
- supporting a range of communications activities including event coordination, strategic communications planning, graphic design photography, media monitoring and digital asset coordination.
We currently have
one (1) permanent full-time
position to fill, and this pool will be utilised to fill other Communications Officer positions that may become available within the next 12 months.
