About the Role
We're seeking a creative Communications Officer who can bring Vincent's story to life and connect the community with the work we do.
This is a part-time 12 month parental leave contract working in a collaborative team that is passionate about making a difference. We're after someone who writes clear and engaging content and knows how to get people's attention, whether it's through media, social or the web.
You'll be someone who writes with impact and can turn complex information into clear and compelling messages that cut through.
As Communications Officer, you'll work closely with the Coordinator Marketing and Communications to build the City's brand, strengthen community connection and keep our stakeholders informed.
Key responsibilities:
- Create engaging, accessible content that resonates across multiple channels.
- Plan and deliver strategic campaigns that showcase projects, services and initiatives.
- Prepare proactive media releases and respond to media enquiries.
- Write and manage website content.
- Capture and edit video and take great photos.
- Provide communications and engagement advice to internal stakeholders.
What we're looking for
This is a part-time role (four days a week) offered on a 12 month fixed term basis.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- A curious mindset and willingness to experiment with new communications approaches.
- Proven experience in a media and communications role.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt content across platforms.
- Experience with media relations - writing releases and handling enquiries.
- Basic visual content skills (photo/video capture and editing).
- Confidence managing multiple projects and deadlines without losing creativity and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style.
