About the Role
We're seeking a creative Communications Officer who can bring Vincent's story to life and connect the community with the work we do.
This is a part-time 12 month parental leave contract working in a collaborative team that is passionate about making a difference. We're after someone who writes clear and engaging content and knows how to get people's attention, whether it's through media, social or the web.
You'll be someone who writes with impact and can turn complex information into clear and compelling messages that cut through.
As Communications Officer, you'll work closely with the Coordinator Marketing and Communications to build the City's brand, strengthen community connection and keep our stakeholders informed.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- A curious mindset and willingness to experiment with new communications approaches.
- Proven experience in a media and communications role.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt content across platforms.
- Experience with media relations - writing releases and handling enquiries.
- Basic visual content skills (photo/video capture and editing).
- Confidence managing multiple projects and deadlines without losing creativity and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style.
What the City of Vincent offers
At the City of Vincent, we like to do things a little differently. We're bold, community-driven, and not afraid to challenge the status quo. You'll have the creative freedom to bring big ideas to life, work on exciting projects that make a real difference and be part of a team that values collaboration and innovation.
- Central Leederville location close to great coffee and dining options
- Free onsite parking and public transport within walking distance
- 5 weeks leave (4 weeks annual leave plus an additional 1 week special leave) pro rata.
- Flexible working arrangements
- Discounted Beatty Park Membership
- Up to 15.5% employer superannuation contributions
- Novated lease options available
We believe mental and physical wellness is an integral part of our workplace culture, and our extensive program offers an assortment of initiatives to promote happiness, productivity and engagement
