Accounts Payable Officer Location: Newtons Building & Landscape Supplies

Join a growing local business in a key admin role Newtons Building & Landscape Supplies is looking for an organised, detail‑oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our friendly team. This is a varied, hands‑on position ideal for someone with AP experience who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.

The role

  • Process a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and on time across all company entities
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and manage direct invoicing workflows
  • Perform daily AP processing and recording duties for all entities
  • Reconcile supplier statements and promptly resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date accounts payable records and documentation
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding payment status, queries and disputes
  • Manage new supplier onboarding, including supplier details and documentation
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support smooth operations

About you

  • Proven experience in Accounts Payable and general administration
  • Experience in construction, trade, building supplies or similar industries is highly regarded
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with accounting systems (MYOB, Xero or equivalent)
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks
  • Clear communicator with a customer‑focused and professional approach
  • Comfortable working as part of a busy team and able to work independently when required
