Known for its spectacular water front location in the heart of The Rocks, 6 HEAD is part of an incredibly organised and well structure team. Despite the intensity of the large covers and the high standards, we provide a welcoming, stable and nurturing work environment.

Now we are looking for youA Sous Chef to start straight away in our premium steakhouse restaurant: Think of a journey over time, a beautiful menu inspired by seasonality, a passionate A-Team and a challenging new restaurant.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining service standards in a premium/refined restaurant environment to ensure a world class hospitality experience.
  • Strong, natural leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
  • Proven ability to work in high pressure/ high volume environment with strong decision-making skills and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Understanding of financials and budget control – including labour control, stock management, wastage and cost of goods.
  • Management of daily restaurant operations whilst meeting company objectives and key performance indicators
  • Creating and building on relationships with our guests, employees and clients
  • Ability to mentor, think on your feet and have a lot of fun

What are we looking for?

  • Great eye for detail and dish presentation
  • Butchery and dry ageing experience
  • Kitchen management experience in similar position
  • Experience as a leader of a high volume venue, with a thorough understanding of kitchen and labour budgets
  • Enjoys working with seasonal produce and able to convert that into dish in accordance to seasonality
  • Ability to meet company objectives and key performance indicators
  • Impeccable presentation, hygiene and grooming standards
  • Advanced understanding and appreciation of all aspects of food and its service
  • Ensure compliance with all OHS legislation (act and regulation)
