About the Position

We are looking to welcome a Family Support Practitioner to deliver an outreach model of family case-management programs addressing identified needs and child protection concerns.

  • Full time opportunity.
  • Position government funded until 31 December 2026 with possible extension.
  • Level 4 under the SCHCADS Award. Salary range is $88,100 - $94,792 + Super + Salary Packaging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver an outreach model of complex case-management programs to families, predominantly within their home environment.
  • Engage with families, obtain consent, and develop a case plan in conjunction with the family and which addresses unmet needs and child protection concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals and stakeholders to meet client-related outcomes.
  • Facilitate social learning, community connectedness, good health, and well-being.

About You

  • A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services).
  • Professional registration (if required).
  • Membership of a relevant professional association (desirable).
  • At least two (2) years' experience providing case-management and therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people and children in a child protection framework.
  • Cultural awareness and an understanding of how to communicate and work effectively with families from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • An understanding of current child protection legislation and policy reforms.

Other Requirements

  • Eligibility for a WWCC or professional exemption.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Legal ability to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required).
