About the Role?

The Assistant Accountant is responsible for ensuring that financial activities are in line with statutory requirements and corporate policies across the APAC region. The role will assist the Management Accountant in reviewing and managing operation costs, revenue and business planning for Hertz APAC.

In this role you will:

• Manage operational expenses, including but not limited to Marketing, IT, Road Tolls, Damage and Maintenance expenses
• Perform month-end closing tasks: journal entries, cost analysis, and variance commentary
• Coordinate regular review meetings with Marketing and IT teams to evaluate expenses, supported by clear and business-friendly commentary.
• Assist in preparing budget and forecast material for responsible areas
• Ensure that designated costs on the Income Statement are analysed with detailed explanations for variations within four working days during month-end
• Maintain high quality of reconciliation, identifying any potential risk within accounts
• Support compliance activities such as year-end audits and tax returns
• Drive business process improvement and automation of manual process
• Completion of ad hoc analysis, reporting and projects

About You?

To be successful in this position, our newest team member will have the following:

• Tertiary Qualified / Accounting Degree
• CA/CPA qualified or working towards completion
• At least two years of professional work experience in an accounting related environment
• Ability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective written and verbal communication to various stakeholders
• Highly motivated and positive attitude to be part of a team
