The Company

Robert Half are currently partnering with a leading not for profit organisation in the recruitment of an Assistant Accountant.

In this position you will be joining a well-respected and highly regarded employer of choice, boasting an outstanding office location in the CBD which is easily accessible by public transport. You will be joining a supportive and high performing team and have the flexibility to work from home 2 days per week.

This position is offered as an initial temporary contract with the prospect of becoming permanent in the coming months. Immediate start required.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Finance Manager with monthly management reporting and account analysis.
  • Month-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, journals including prepayments and accruals, bank reconciliations
  • Review debtor and creditor aging report.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Prepare monthly BAS and assist with FBT return
  • Assist with internal and external audit processes
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Prepare and lodge workcover contributions.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or equivalent
  • Actively studying towards CA or CPA qualification
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and data analytics
  • Good written and verbal communication with an ability to engage with stakeholders to convey financial information.
