About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and ambitious
Business Development & Strategy Intern
to support our go-to-market activities as we expand across the Australian market. This role is ideal for a
Year 3 or Year 4 university student
who is passionate about startups, fintech, and the SME ecosystem, and eager to gain real-world experience in business development. You will work closely with the Head of Business Development and cross-functional teams to help identify growth opportunities, engage potential partners or merchants, and support product feedback and market insights.

Key Responsibilities

1) Market Research & Analysis

  • Research industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging sales channels
  • Support the Head of BD in identifying new business segments and partnership opportunities

2) Outbound Outreach & Lead Generation

  • Assist in executing cold outreach initiatives (calls, emails, social platforms)
  • Help maintain and update lead pipelines and CRM records

3) Sales Support & Coordination

  • Collect and document product-related inquiries from potential merchants or partners
  • Liaise with the product team to communicate market needs, pain points, and feature requests
  • Provide general support for BD campaigns, sales materials, and reporting

What We're Looking For

  • Current Year 3 or Year 4 university student
    in Business, Marketing, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, or related fields
  • Passion for startups
    , innovation, and scaling new ideas
  • Prior experience in B2B environments
    is highly preferred — e.g. Wholesale/distribution roles; B2B suppliers serving SMEs; Partners that sell to F&B groups, retail groups, or hospitality chains; Any sales/support role dealing with merchants or business owners
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in conducting cold outreach
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks
  • Self-starter mindset with a willingness to learn, experiment, and take initiative
