We have a current opportunity for a
Futures Modelling Specialist
, on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is based in
Symonston, ACT
. The contract is for an
initial 12 month period, with a 2 x12 month extension option
.

Start: circa 01 November 2025

DSS Skill Set: Level 3 - Systems and Software Engineering - Systems Architecture, Integration

The Modelling Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

  • Undertake Land Combat System Modelling using the CATIA tool.
  • Conduct maintenance and use of the Land Data Model modelling tool and associated library.
  • Support the conduct of planning and executing modelling.
  • Support the development of associated modelling artefacts and reports/documentation, including NATO Architecture Framework artefacts.
  • Support the maintenance and development of specified Land Combat System modelling libraries.
  • Where directed, undertake Defence modelling training.

Minimum mandatory requirements:

  • AGSVA Security clearance.
  • Defence / NATO experience.
  • Ability to undertake Model Based Systems Engineering within the CATIA modelling tool.
  • Software Engineering/Computer Science degree or equivalent knowledge/experience.
  • Experience writing engineering documentation and reports.
  • Ability to communicate using System Modelling Language to express engineering concepts and designs to military customers and non-software vendor representatives.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Proficiency using CATIA modelling tool.
  • Experience undertaking systems and or network modelling.
  • Experience in using NATO Architecture Framework.
  • Experience in Defence engineering processes or with defence systems.
