Systems Modelling Engineer – MBSE

Azooa is preparing a submission for
RFQTS 16638 – Mission Thread Modelling Specialist
and is seeking a highly skilled candidate to support the Australian Army's
Land Capability Executive
through the
Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC)
in Canberra.

This role is pivotal to the Army's digital transformation and Integrated Force objectives. The successful candidate will deliver
Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
solutions, using
CATIA
and
SysML
, to develop and maintain the digital design baseline of the
Land Combat System
.

Working directly with Defence stakeholders, acquisition agencies, and technical teams, you will generate robust digital models and artefacts aligned with the
NATO Architecture Framework (NAF)
, contributing to capability integration, standards development, and decision-making processes.

This is a full-time, Canberra-based contract running from
1 November 2025 to 31 October 2026
, with the possibility of
two 12-month extensions
.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake system modelling of the Land Combat System using
  CATIA
  .
• Apply
  MBSE
  principles to support capability design and force integration.
• Create and maintain
  SysML
  artefacts and engineering documentation.
• Develop and maintain digital libraries, aligned with Defence standards.
• Contribute to the development and conformance of system standards.
• Engage with Defence stakeholders including Army, APS, and contractors.
• Support the application of the
  NATO Architecture Framework (NAF)
  .
• Assist with conformance testing using LNIC-developed tools.
• Participate in planning, training, and reporting activities in support of Army force design.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in
  MBSE
  using the
  CATIA
  tool.
• Proficiency in
  SysML
  for system modelling and communication.
• Degree in
  Software Engineering
  ,
  Computer Science
  , or equivalent experience.
• Strong background in producing engineering reports and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication skills with Defence and technical stakeholders.
• Must be
  Canberra-based
  (requirement).
• Must hold an active
  NV1 security clearance
  at contract start.

Desirable Skills

• Advanced proficiency with
  CATIA
  .
• Familiarity with the
  NATO Architecture Framework (NAF)
  .
• Experience in
  Defence systems engineering
  or network/system modelling.
• Background in complex technical environments or capability integration projects.

Work Environment & Expectations

• Full-time, on-site facilities available at LNIC.
• Independent delivery of tasks (no shared resourcing).
• Three-month probation period applies.
• Compliance with APS Code of Conduct, Defence WHS, Equity & Diversity, and all relevant policies.
• Engagement includes monthly reporting and quarterly reviews.
