About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Costing and Funding Specialist (Government) professional to join our growing Canberra team. This role is ideal for someone with a background or skills in management accounting, costing, pricing, or funding model development who is keen to apply their skills to high-impact work across the Australian Government.

You'll work closely with agencies to design and implement costing and charging models that shape funding decisions, improve transparency, and support sustainable service delivery. This is a client-facing role where you'll combine technical expertise with stakeholder engagement to deliver solutions that directly influence government policy outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement costing and funding models tailored to agency needs,
  • Provide practical advice on the application of the Australian Government Charging Framework,
  • Analyse operational and resource costs to identify efficiency opportunities,
  • Support agencies in pricing strategy and revenue model development,
  • Work with clients to embed activity-based and best-practice costing methodologies, and
  • Lead and mentor small project teams, ensuring high-quality delivery.

Who We're Looking For

We want to hear from candidates with skills and experience in:

  • Management accounting or financial management in government or the private sector,
  • Costing, cost management, or funding model design,
  • Development of pricing or revenue models for services,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Ability to explain complex financial and policy concepts in simple terms,
  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Experience in consulting is not a prerequisite for this position. As a firm specialising in consulting for government, we do require candidates to be Australian Citizens in order to obtain a government security clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
