Sunny Queen Australia is seeking a Senior Food Technologist to join our R&D team on a 12-month contract at our state-of-the-art Carole Park facility. In this role, you'll drive research and development across various market segments, and experience collaborating with major retailers. We are consistently growing which may generate the possibility of a permanent role in this space.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 4.00 pm (38 hours a week)

As a Senior Food Technologist, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the creation of new food products by defining technical requirements, applying scientific principles, and ensuring high-quality production, packaging, and processing.
  • Create and refine product samples, working closely with engineers, flavour experts, packaging specialists, and marketers to ensure products meet market needs.
  • Drive projects from concept to first production, ensuring alignment with business goals and successful market launch.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance flavour, texture, nutrition, and packaging while optimising production efficiency.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales, and Manufacturing teams, lead NPD meetings, and provide regular project updates.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • 5 years' experience in the food industry, with a focus on new product development.
  • Proven track record in developing and launching new products.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and flexibility.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organisational skills.
