Debt Resolution Officer

An AO4 Debt Resolution Officer vacancy is available in the Debt Management Centre (DMC) division of the Queensland Revenue Office.
The position is based in our Ipswich office with flexible work options available and access to professional growth pathways.
The DMC undertakes targeted and proactive penalty debt collection and enforcement action through inbound and outbound call interactions in a contact centre environment. In this role, you will work in a collaborative team to deliver excellent debt resolution, collection and disbursement services.

Your typical day as a Debt Resolution Officer may include:
- Answering client phone calls and applying debt management processes and effective negotiation techniques to resolve enquiries, ensuring a positive client experience and management of the debt pool,
- Negotiating debt management instalment plans,
- Reviewing, applying legislation and documenting decisions,
- Resolving escalated matters from Service Officers,
- Using our computer systems to input, manage, retrieve, analyse information, and generate reports; and
- Supporting the Team Leader to facilitate team and individual development and building a positive and participative culture aligned to our values and objectives.
You will be supported by a positive, constructive team and divisional leaders as you do your work.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Resilience, patience and persistence and the ability to remain calm in challenging negotiations,
- A strong working knowledge of digital and data technology/systems,
- Capability to analyse, interpret and apply legislation and/or policy to achieve successful outcomes,
- High level of interpersonal and influential communication skills.
- Basic financial analysis skills.
