We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to work within the Corporate Services area of a local Government Department. Commencing ASAP, this full-time temporary assignment is initially for 6 months with the possibility of an extension.

You will need to have:

- Demonstrated project management experience in a project or program delivery position within a local government, private sector and/or comparable complex environment.
- Experience in, or a sound understanding of local government, program planning and project management.
- A sound ability to think strategically, research, and evaluate information with a sound understanding of program and project management methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple programs and projects with superior time-management, organisation, and negotiation skills.
- High level oral and written communication skills including excellent negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills and the capacity to build and maintain positive relationships.
- Substantial skills in rapidly assimilating information about an organisation’s culture, structure, systems, and processes.

Responsibilities of this role will include:

- Assist with the program budget, co-ordinating with stakeholders as necessary to ensure that timely and correct budget information is available and reported.
- Assist with the program deliverable management process, ensuring that the correct review and approval process is followed.
- Manage and maintain the Program schedule in collaboration with the Program Lead.
- Assist with project risk and issue identification, analysis and that appropriate mitigations are put in place.
- Assist the Program Lead with stakeholder management and communications, including status reporting, meeting minutes and other project documentation to various stakeholders.
- Prepare relevant project and program documentation and performance reporting including but not limited to project plans, schedules, milestones for monitoring, reporting, quality control, risk management, communications and change management.
- Provide timely and efficient coordination and dissemination of project material.
