Role Description

This is a full-time position for a Senior Experienced Audio-Visual Service Technician servicing both the Greater Sydney Area and open to work Australia wide on site-specific projects. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing faults and maintaining Audio-Visual (AV) systems, lighting, projectors, etc. You will also be responsible with installation and integration of AV systems to match our client's needs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated competency in operating audio visual equipment
• Work closely with clients to understand their AV needs and offer tailored solutions
• Lead and mentor junior technicians, ensuring high standards of work
• Install, move and modify audio visual equipment and other related equipment according to job specifications, standards and procedures
• Good understanding of IT networks
• Connecting systems, i.e., patching in equipment racks
• Strong understanding of cable infrastructure and termination
• Properly mount (secure, level, centre) various equipment including LCD's, projectors, speakers and other audio visual equipment
• Read and interpret schematic diagrams and drawings
• Provide feedback to project engineers when required
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions
• Following standardised test procedures
• Systems functionality testing
• Maintain and repair equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and specifications
• Maintain and report accurate records of hours and materials used
• Train the customer on system use and how to obtain system maintenance if required
• Undertake service calls when required
• Perform additional functions incidental to installation activities
• Troubleshooting ability
• Knowledge of the AV Industry and working components
• Knowledge of AV Control Systems and programming

Skills and Experience

• Proficient in Audio Visual (AV) Systems and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of lighting and projector technologies
• Ability to effectively communicate technical problems to clients
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
• Experience in the Audio-Visual industry is essential
• Driver's Licence
• Associates certifications advantageous, Cert II / III Telecommunications, Cablers Licence, White Card, EWP Ticket etc.

What We're Looking For

• Experience with Live and Virtual events
• Strong knowledge of Madmapper, Resolume and other mapping softwares (i.e. WATCHOUT, Disguise)
• Setup, video and data networking, LED Wall setup and programming
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• High standard of personal presentation
• Riggers Ticket (highly regarded)
• Relevant technical certifications in AV technology
• A commitment to staying informed about the latest industry developments
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team

• Hold a valid unrestricted NSW driver's license
