About the Role:
Are you a passionate Speech Pathologist with a love for working with neonates and infants experiencing feeding and swallowing challenges? Northern Health is seeking a dynamic Grade 2 Paediatric Speech Pathologist to join our NDIS Paediatric Feeding Speech Pathology Service.
This role requires the delivery of timely, evidence-based care to infants and children post-hospital discharge, with a focus on supporting tube-fed children to transition to oral feeding. Care is provided across a mix of home-based, phone-based, and occasional centre-based services.
This role is responsible for collaborating with both the Paediatric and Allied Health teams to deliver integrated care, supporting children and families during critical stages of development. You will also supervise junior staff and students, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and support service delivery that aligns with Northern Health's values and clinical excellence.
What We Offer:
- A supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team – Work alongside a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to quality care and positive patient outcomes.
- Opportunities for professional development and clinical leadership – We support your growth through ongoing education, training, and access to leadership opportunities.
- Access to research and innovation initiatives – Be part of an organization that encourages the exploration of new approaches to healthcare delivery and clinical practice.
- Strong organisational culture with a focus on collaboration and service excellence – We pride ourselves on fostering a positive work environment that values teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.
- Work-life balance and employee wellbeing programs – We understand the importance of a healthy balance and offer flexible working arrangements to support your well-being.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience and sound working knowledge of paediatric feeding and swallowing disorders, particularly in community-based (home and phone) care.
- Experience working with neonates as part of a developmental care team, with an understanding of their unique needs.
- A strong understanding of the NDIS and how it intersects with paediatric speech pathology services.
- Proven ability to supervise and support junior staff and students.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build relationships with families, staff, and external agencies.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and a proactive approach to enhancing service quality and outcomes.
