About the Role
Working in the Student Support Services (SSS) team is a meaningful and rewarding role that allows you to make a positive impact on the lives of children, young people, families, and schools. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver assessment, consultation, and program advice that supports student learning, wellbeing, and engagement. Strong communication, report‑writing, networking, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Qualified Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Speech Pathologists are encouraged to apply, with appropriate registration or eligibility with relevant professional bodies required. Applicants must hold a current Working with Children Check and an Australian driver’s licence.
This role involves collaboration with other SSS team members to provide assessment, consultation, support, and program advice to improve teaching, learning and wellbeing strategies for students requiring support. Other key components of the role include highly developed communication skills including report‑writing, networking, and interpersonal skills that enable effective liaison with a range of people in the education community and beyond, and the ability to work autonomously.
If you are passionate about child and adolescent development, trauma informed practices, complex presentations and consulting with educational staff around behavioural and environmental adjustments to support learning engagement, and like working in a collaborative multidisciplinary team - then a role in the SSS is the job for you.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Psychologist: A graduate or post‑graduate qualification in psychology; full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
- Occupational Therapist: A graduate or post‑graduate qualification in Occupational Therapy; registration as an occupational therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Social Worker: A graduate or post‑graduate degree in social work or equivalent; eligibility for membership of the Australia Association of Social Workers.
