ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to oversee Social Enterprise operations across Victoria. Reporting to the Executive General Manager Commercial Services, you will lead site supervisors and contract managers while ensuring strong operational performance, compliance, and growth. This role blends commercial management with purpose-driven leadership, delivering outcomes for clients, communities, and the environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the management of resource recovery centres, recycled goods stores, e-waste processing, and waste services contracts.
  • Drive business development and operational improvements in line with strategic growth.
  • Manage financial performance, budgets, contracts, and asset registers across multiple sites.
  • Lead, coach, and support supervisors to achieve KPIs, while fostering a strong safety and inclusive culture.
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S, environmental regulations, and contractual obligations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, councils, and industry partners.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, forums, and contract meetings.

SKILLS & EXPERTISE

  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams, operations, and contracts in complex environments.
  • Strong business development, financial management, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to drive performance while maintaining a values-based, inclusive, and safety-focused culture.
  • Possess a tertiary qualifications in engineering, business, management, or a related field.
  • Background in waste management, environmental services, or social enterprise will be highly regarded.
  • Commitment to social impact, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
