General Manager Technology & Operations, State Trustees

Over 20,000 Victorians rely on State Trustees to manage their legal and financial affairs when they need help or after they pass away. We are experts in our fields, driven by diligence and accountability, and demonstrate care and compassion for clients at some of life's most challenging moments.

For over 80 years we have delivered a range of financial and legal services including:

  • Wills and Power of Attorney preparation
  • Deceased Estate administration
  • Personal financial administration
  • Trust administration
  • Charitable giving through personal trusts and bequests and through the State Trustees Australia Foundation

We also offer Victorians the free Will Bank and Victorian Will and Power of Attorney registry, giving them confidence their important documents can be found easily and are safe.

State Trustees administers $2.9bn in funds, generates an income of $84.6 million and employs over 500 people, working across offices in Footscray (Head Office), Bendigo and Dandenong.

The role

State Trustees is seeking a General Manager Technology & Operations (GMT&O) to oversee the evolution and transformation of State Trustees' technology stack and operations to support the organisation's purpose and strategic objectives.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the GMT&O will lead a direct team of seven including three Senior Managers. They will be responsible for leading technology strategy, digital transformation initiatives and continuous improvement programs, as well as overseeing the Operations function that serves clients across the organisation, including payments, insurance, and property.

The role focuses on enhancing digital capabilities, driving business process improvements and simplification, and ensuring technology solutions align with business objectives. It will deliver strategic technology projects, whilst also creating an organisational technology roadmap for the future (including AI). This role will ensure effective, efficient, and sustainable operations across the organisation.
