Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Frontline Retail Melbourne Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

Our Client:

Our client is a leading Australian ladies fashion brand, celebrated for its modern, sophisticated aesthetic and loyal customer base. With a strong national presence and a clear vision for future growth, they have become a destination for confident, fashion-forward women who value timeless style with a contemporary edge.

Known for their elevated collections, premium quality, and distinct brand identity, they continue to innovate across retail, digital, and design. As they expand their footprint and refine their customer experience, they are now seeking a highly experienced State Operations Manager to lead their store network across Victoria.

The Opportunity:

This is a key leadership role responsible for driving retail performance, operational excellence, and team capability across a significant store portfolio. Reporting directly to the National Retail Manager, the State Operations Manager will lead a team of Area and Store Managers, playing a critical role in both the strategic and day-to-day success of the retail division.

The successful candidate will be an established senior leader with a proven background in managing multi-site fashion retail operations. You'll bring a commercial mindset, a passion for team development, and a deep understanding of what exceptional customer experience looks like in the premium fashion space.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of Area and Store Managers across the state.

* Deliver on key commercial outcomes including sales growth, cost control, stock management, and profitability.

* Embed a culture of customer-centricity, operational consistency, and performance accountability.

* Analyse business performance and implement actionable plans to optimise results across the region.

* Work closely with Head Office departments (Merchandising, Marketing, People & Culture) to ensure alignment and execution.

* Champion the brand's visual and customer experience standards across all locations.

* Oversee new store openings, refits, and seasonal retail planning at the state level.

* Ensure compliance with all operational policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

Candidate Profile:

* 5+ years' experience in a senior multi-site leadership role within fashion retail.

* Demonstrated success in driving commercial performance across large, multi-unit portfolios.

* Strong leadership capabilities with a passion for team development, coaching, and succession planning.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.

* Highly analytical, strategic, and results-driven.

* Ability to manage change and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving retail landscape.

* A natural affinity with fashion, customer experience, and brand culture.

* Willingness to travel within the state as required.

In Return:

* Senior leadership role with real impact and autonomy

* Established, well-loved Australian fashion brand with exciting growth plans

* Competitive salary package + vehicle allowance + performance bonuses

* Generous product discounts and incentives

* A supportive and collaborative senior leadership team
