The Domestic Violence Advocacy Support Service (DVASS) is an outreach service providing support and advocacy to victim survivors of family and domestic violence, with the aim of breaking the cycle of violence and preventing homelessness. In this role, you'll ensure a quality service delivery and outcomes for women and children experiencing family and domestic violence through comprehensive case management, education programs and practical support.

This is a max term, part-time (30 hours per week) opportunity until 30 June 2027, based in Katanning.

What you will bring

You are a passionate and talented individual who is keen to learn new skills and driven to deliver a high-quality service.

You will have:

  • Qualification in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline (desirable), or relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting individuals and families, preferably in respect to family and domestic violence and/or trauma
  • Demonstrated experience in family violence safety assessment and case management
  • Experience working in culturally safe and responsive ways with clients from Aboriginal and other diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution, advocacy and negotiation skills

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year.

Benefits

  • From $86,950 per annum (pro-rata) + 12% superannuation
  • In addition to your remuneration, you will enjoy generous tax-free salary packaging benefits where you can package up to $15,900 per annum and not pay tax on that amount.
  • Additional 3 days (pro-rata) leave a year.
