WHO ARE WE?
The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation is one of Sydney's largest frontline charities and has been operating for 40 years. Our mission is to provide assistance to address the cause and effect of homelessness and poverty, faced by marginalised individuals. We succeed in achieving this through a combination of caring services like food provision, social welfare and education support.
About the role:
We're looking for a passionate and skilled Domestic Violence Specialist Worker to join our Ashfield Hub team. In this vital frontline role, you'll provide specialist crisis support, case coordination and advocacy for women and their children impacted by domestic and family violence.
As the first point of contact, you'll offer immediate safety planning, risk assessments, support with protection order applications, and connection to urgent services such as crisis accommodation, financial aid, counselling, legal supports and health services. You'll also work closely with other providers through outreach, referrals and collaborative care planning to ensure holistic, wraparound support.
This is a chance to make a genuine difference every day, while being part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team that values your expertise and wellbeing.
What you'll do:
- Provide immediate crisis response, risk assessments and safety planning.
- Support clients to access protection orders, accommodation, financial aid and other essential services.
- Deliver collaborative case management, linking clients with counselling, legal, health, migration and childcare supports.
- Build strong relationships with partner agencies, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation and contribute to case reviews and team reflections.
- Actively participate in team meetings, consortium networks and professional partnerships.
What you will have:
- Experience delivering trauma-informed support to women and families with complex needs.
- Skilled in conflict resolution, de-escalation and crisis management.
- Strong knowledge of domestic violence, mental health, housing, legal and community support systems.
- Ability to stay calm and responsive under pressure while remaining empathetic and empowering.
- Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
- A proactive, flexible and client-focused approach.
Why join us?
We know that supporting our community starts with supporting you. As part of our team, you'll enjoy:
- Ongoing professional development opportunities
- Salary packaging benefits, up to $15,900 tax-free
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for wellbeing support
- Access to WhereFit Health & Wellbeing Program
- Convenient location, close to public transport or free off-street parking
This is more than just a job, it's a chance to be part of a community that stands alongside women and children, helping them find safety, stability and hope.
TO APPLY:
If you have experience in Domestic Violence Support and are looking to make an impact in the community, then please click APPLY and send through your resume.
