Your Opportunity to make an impact:
Join our Outreach Accommodation Support Intervention Services (OASIS) team, where you'll play a vital role in providing support women and their children who have escaped DFV and are now residing in DVSM's housing services. In this trauma-informed service, you'll support both women and children who are navigating the challenges of DFV and help create safer, more stable futures for them.
This position is based in a residential setting in Western Sydney and requires the employee to be based on site to ensure positive relationships and in person collaboration with the clients on site.
As a DFV Worker, you'll work closely with DFV Practitioners and provide hands-on support to women and children residing in DVSM's housing services, helping them towards a better, more secure life.
Making a Difference Daily: Your Role
- Provide essential and trauma-informed daily support with the routines of women and children living in DVSM's housing services. This may involve manual handling tasks.
- Help women and children form positive, trusting relationships to promote emotional well-being.
- Directly support families in navigating essential external services, including attending appointments (e.g., health, legal, Centrelink), to ensure their practical needs are met.
- Respond proactively to mental health, safety, and well-being needs, ensuring each individual feels heard and supported.
- Work in partnership with DFV Practitioners and Counsellors to actively develop, implement, and track progress toward individual case plan goals.
- Collaborate with DFV Practitioners and Counsellors to organise and facilitate group activities that support personal growth and community.
- Complete accurate and timely administration and reporting, ensuring all interactions, incidents, and client progress are clearly documented.
- Actively partake in the on-call roster to ensure continuous client safety and responsive support outside of standard hours.
- Engage with our L&D and team activities, including professional supervision.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Diploma in Community Services and/or Diploma in Counselling, Youth Work, Early Education background.
- Demonstrated experience of working in the DFV sector, family services and/or women's services.
- Knowledge and understanding of the gendered basis of DFV and the impact on women and children.
- Working knowledge of trauma-informed and DFV-informed care.
- Experience working in a team-based environment.
- Unrestricted NSW Driver Licence.
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check.
- Must be available to work morning, afternoon and weekend shifts as needed.

This role may include manual handling tasks as part of routine and housing support. Please ensure you are comfortable with moderate physical activity as part of the job.
