Medical Receptionist

Merthyr 7 Day Medical Centre is a long-standing, doctor-owned practice located in the heart of Merthyr Village Shopping Centre. Serving the New Farm community since 1995, we pride ourselves on continuity of care, clinical excellence, and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.

We are currently seeking a Part-time Medical Receptionist to join our supportive and dedicated team for 3- 4 days per week. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment — ideal for someone who works well under pressure, enjoys patient interaction, and thrives in a collaborative setting.

The Role

The Receptionist:

  • Greets patients, answers the phones and manages patient enquiries
  • Books patient appointments and schedules resources such as Practice Nurses and the treatment room
  • Bills patients and processes Medicare claims
  • Administration tasks including mail, scanning, ordering of equipment and filing
  • General housekeeping and upkeep of reception area and 8 consulting rooms

You will need

  • Enthusiastic, warm and happy personality
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to interact in a positive and pleasant manner with our patients, doctors, nurses and practice manager
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks while still showing excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly and adjust to a new environment
  • Computer skills including experience or Best Practice or a similar patient management system
  • Previous experience in Medical Reception highly regarded
