Join Council's Project team, supporting the maintenance, renewal and improvement of Council's buildings and facilities.  In this role, you will assist the Project Manager – Buildings to ensure that Council's assets remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose, contributing to high-quality project outcomes across the organisation.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Project Manager - Buildings, you will assist in the delivery of programmed maintenance, reactive repairs, and preventative works across Council-owned buildings.  Your responsibilities include conducting building condition assessments and, supporting lifecycle planning, managing contractors, and assisting with major projects to ensure works meet Council's quality, WHS, and environmental standards.  You will also help with audits and contribute to grant submissions for building upgrades or replacements.

The ideal candidate will hold a trade certificate in Carpentry, a relevant builder's licence, or a degree in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent tertiary studies.  You will have recent experience in the construction industry, knowledge of building techniques, and experience supporting project planning and delivery.  Experience managing contracts, engaging with stakeholders, or assisting with project teams is desirable.

To succeed in the role, you will need knowledge of the National Construction Code and Australian Standards, the ability to read and interpret plans, and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.  Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively and support successful project outcomes.

Annual salary of $98,277 to $111,904 (plus super).
