As the Manager Ramp & Baggage Product, you will be responsible for leading and serving as the primary point of contact for all aspects of the Ramp & Baggage product, including supplies, systems, equipment, and IT platforms. This role acts as the product owner of key systems (FirstBag, FirstLoad, and FirstFIDS), ensuring effective use by Airport Ramp and Baggage staff, other business units, and third-party Ground Service Providers.

This position leads system design, maintenance, testing, and serves as the SME in ongoing evaluations of system effectiveness. Success in this role enables both domestic and international airports to deliver exceptional customer service, comply with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and drive operational efficiencies across Ground Operations.

This role will oversee process and systems management across multiple stakeholders, including QF IT, Systems Development, Compliance, Policy/Procedure teams, and third-party system suppliers, to achieve strategic business outcomes.

Additionally, this role provides specialised Ramp & Baggage expertise and operational support to frontline teams, Ground Service Providers, and Airport Management. This support also extends to key projects across the Qantas Group that involve Ground Operations deliverables.

You'll have –

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Ground Operations – including processes, procedures, Ground Operations governance structure, regulatory framework and culture.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ground Operations systems (technology) with the ability to learn and adapt to applications quickly
  • Advanced knowledge of Ramp & Baggage products
  • Proven ability to influence and demonstrate change management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and evaluate data methodically and efficiently and plan strategies to mitigate risk
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of frontline teams and senior management
  • Ability to think through processes and their impact on other areas of the operation.
