Programs Coordinator – NDIS

About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Programs Coordinator to lead and deliver engaging After School Care, Vacation Care, and Day Programs for both children and adults with disabilities.
Based in Townsville, this role involves designing, implementing, and coordinating a wide range of meaningful and inclusive activities that promote social connection, personal development, and fun. You'll work closely with participants, families, and staff to ensure programs reflect the individual interests, goals, and abilities of those we support under the NDIS.
A background in teaching, education, early childhood learning is highly desirable, particularly for planning and delivering programs that are inclusive, creative, and person-centred.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality programs for After School Care, Vacation Care, and Day Programs, tailored to the diverse needs of both children and adults with disabilities
- Ensure all activities are inclusive, engaging, and compliant with NDIS guidelines and safety standards
- Provide leadership and supervision to program staff, ensuring best practice and a supportive team culture
- Liaise with families, carers, external providers, and community stakeholders to support participant goals and program engagement
- Monitor outcomes and participant satisfaction, identifying areas for improvement and innovation
- Maintain accurate records, manage resources, and ensure all compliance and reporting requirements are met
- Lead regular team meetings and support ongoing staff development
- Risk assessment and follow workplace health a safety standard
- Rostering staff for program will apply
- On-call Duties on a rotating roster with the other management staff will be required
About You
You are a passionate and organised professional who enjoys working across a variety of age groups and support needs. You bring:
- Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating community, educational, or recreational programs
- Experience working with people with disabilities under the NDIS framework (children and/or adults)
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with families, support workers, and service partners
- Strong administrative and time management skills
- A current Queensland Driver's Licence
- Current First Aid and CPR certification - or willingness to obtain
- Confidence using technology for program management and communication
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children – QLD) or willingness to obtain
- Current Yellow Card (NDIS Worker Screening Check) or willingness to obtain
- Eligibility to work in Australia (Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa)
Qualifications & Desirable Criteria
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. education, disability services, community development, social work, leisure and health) or equivalent work experience
- Experience in school-aged care, disability support, or community engagement programs
- Background in teaching or education is highly desirable
