About the Role

Bharosa community services looking for Disability Support Worker (NDIS) to join our team on a casual basis (with part-time potential). We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality support to individuals living with mental health conditions to enhance their independence, wellbeing, and community participation.

You will work collaboratively with clients to achieve their personal goals, encourage recovery, and promote positive mental health outcomes.

Bharosa Community Services offers services for people with disabilities to help them live with respect and dignity while engaging in all their favourite activities in a secure environment. Our qualified and experienced staff provide individual and community care across all of Brisbane.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Providing care and support to clients in line with their personalised care plans, including:

  • Provide person-centred support to clients with psychosocial and mental health needs
  • Personal tasks
  • Community Access and Social support
  • Domestic assistance
  • Transportation Support
  • Meal preparation
  • Group activities Support
  • Life skills development

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Cert III Individual Support - Mental Health, Community Services, Disability Work or similar.
  • Reliable Vehicle with Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance
  • NDIS Worker screening check (Required)
  • Working with Children Check (Required)
  • First Aid Certification (Required)
  • National Police Certificate (Required)
  • Driver Licence (Required)
  • Experience supporting People with Disability (Preferred)

SKILLS:

  • Experience working with individuals with psychosocial disabilities (mental health)
  • Leisure and Lifestyle Experience
  • Recreational Activities Experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritise.
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of programs and other computer systems for record keeping (Preferred)
