Public Transport Services is a group that brings together Commercial and Contract Services, Engineering and Asset Management, Strategy and Network Services and Transport Operations.
Our Branch
Engineering and Asset Management Branch is responsible for:
- Provides first line bus maintenance at depot garage
- Provides second line maintenance at the Toowong Bus Workshops
- Establishes and regularly reviews fleet maintenance policies and standards
- Management of bus maintenance processes to ensure compliance with policies and standards
- Procurement of bus fleet and associated products and services
- Asset management and maintenance, of electrical charging infrastructure
- Investigation and review of incidents involving the bus fleet and/or other TfB infrastructure
- Management of non-bus facilities and assets
- Management and coordination of major projects
- Coordination of divisional information technology requirements.
The Role
We're looking for 2 motivated and detail-oriented professionals to join our team as a Maintenance Planner.
In this role, you'll play a key part in maintaining the reliability and performance of Brisbane's public transport network by conducting operational maintenance planning through Council's Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP) system.
You'll manage the end-to-end planning and scheduling of project, technical, scheduled, and reactive maintenance work, ensuring activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and within set timeframes.
This is an opportunity to combine your technical and analytical skills with your ability to collaborate across teams to deliver quality outcomes for the community.
As part of Public Transport Services, you'll liaise with Garage Managers, delivery coordinators, maintenance staff, and external providers to ensure the seamless delivery of maintenance programs. You'll prepare reports, monitor KPIs, and support the development of continuous improvement initiatives using SAP and other Council systems.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- ability to contribute to team direction, give and receive feedback, and achieve agreed performance standards to foster a culture of performance excellence.
- demonstrated or the ability to attain technical expertise in maintenance planning and scheduling, coordinating skilled resources, materials, and external services to meet performance targets.
- well-developed organisational skills, with proven ability to plan, schedule, and manage competing priorities, coordinate multidiscipline work teams, and monitor and report on progress.
- strong interpersonal skills to develop collaborative relationships with managers, peers, customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- working knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures, and a sound understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity practices.
- well-developed written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to use Maintenance Planning and Scheduling methodologies, corporate systems, and PC-based software including Excel, Word, and particularly SAP and mobile solutions.
