Seeking highly commercial Engineer, with solid Project Management gained in the food &/or beverage space, to deliver strategically important projects.

Our client is a leading food manufacturer with operations across multiple sites in Australia. Reporting to the National Operations Leader, the National Engineering Manager plays a key role in translating strategic direction into major capital works projects. Working closely with the business leaders, this role is responsible for delivering best-practice and consistency across all manufacturing sites, in a culture of continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have solid Program Management experience and a strong engineering background (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical / Electronics). Significant experience in the food and/or beverage space is critical, as is being highly commercial - appreciating the big picture around growth, expansion and product innovation and its relation to capital works investment.

The role is also responsible for engineering support across all operations, seeking cost efficiency & opportunities for innovation, setting best practice standards, developing engineering capability and maintenance excellence.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience as a leader in Engineering in the food and/or beverage sector.

  • Managed a significant capital works budget.
  • Significant Project or Program Management experience.
  • Translated business strategic direction into executable capital project plans.
  • Support strategy to optimise results including manufacturing efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Driven maintenance excellence.
  • Led and developed short and mid to long term capital plans.
  • Focused on safety.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
