We are currently looking for an excited and passionate Event Assistant to join us part time at Darwin Convention Centre

This role is responsible for supporting the Events team in coordinating and delivering world-class events through administrative and operational tasks, working collaboratively across departments to ensure smooth execution under supervision.

This will include tasks such as:

  • Assist with the coordination and delivery of events, ensuring a world-class experience.
  • Provide on-the-ground support to clients during events, responding to queries.
  • Prepare and maintain event documentation such as run sheets and floor plans.
  • Communicate event requirements to internal teams to ensure alignment.
  • Support event logistics including room setups, signage, catering, and AV.
  • Maintain accurate event records in the Centre's CRM system.
  • Manage client feedback, ensuring timely follow-up and documentation.
  • Assist with supplier coordination during event delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and relevant ISO standards.
  • Follow WHS protocols and report hazards or incidents.
  • Represent Darwin Convention Centre professionally and contribute to team development.

  • Basic understanding of food and beverage service and event operations
  • Flexibility to work event-based rosters, including evenings and weekends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional presentation and grooming
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and meet deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and effective time management
  • Proactive, adaptable, and receptive to guidance
  • Personable and courteous, with strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a willingness to learn event coordination and drawing software
  • Valid RSA Certificate
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain

A satisfactory National Police Records Check is required for this role.
