We are currently looking for experienced and passionate Event Assistants to join us part time at Darwin Convention Centre

This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering events within the Centre's spaces, managing catering, suppliers, and operations to ensure seamless execution and a world-class experience for clients and guests.

This will include tasks such as:

  • Liaise with clients to understand event objectives, requirements, budgets, and timelines
  • Prepare event plans, proposals, quotes, and contribute to planning meetings
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and event partners
  • Coordinate event logistics including catering, signage, AV, cleaning, and security
  • Oversee events on the day to ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction
  • Assist with invoicing, reporting, and post-event evaluations
  • Maintain accurate event records in the CRM, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and WHS requirements
  • Support junior team members and contribute to event operations policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Event Supervisor or Event Services Manager

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in conference or event coordination
  • Qualification in Hospitality, Tourism or Event Management (desirable)
  • Flexibility to work event-based rosters, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong understanding of food and beverage service and event operations
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and contribute to team leadership
  • Experience in client liaison and stakeholder communication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Client-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence
  • Adaptability and resilience in dynamic event environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a willingness to learn event software and drawing programs
  • Valid RSA certification
  • First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain

A satisfactory National Police Records Check is required for this role.
